A native of Greenfield MA,  Dr. Brown graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine,  Kansas State University after receiving her undergraduate degree from Hampshire College in Amherst MA.   When she returned to the area with her DVM degree,  she worked as an associate at the Pioneer Valley Veterinary Hospital for a few years.  In 1994 Dr. Brown established her own small animal veterinary hospital in Turners Falls, MA.  Since then Dr. Brown and her staff have been providing quality care for dogs, cats and pocket pets including guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, and gerbils.  Due to severe allergies Dr. Brown cannot provide care to rabbits.

In February 2016 Cheryl E. Mathein DVM joined our practice. A native of Connecticut, Dr. Mathein graduated from Saint Joseph College with her Bachelor's degree in 2000; subsequently she received her DVM degree from Louisiana State University in 2005.  For the past 10 years Dr. Mathein has been practicing veterinary medicine in North Carolina.  She recently relocated to western MA and we are thrilled to have her working with us.

Dr. Mathein prides herself on providing each patient and client with compassion, respect and always offering the best medicine possible. She is available for appointments on Tuesday mornings, Wednesdays, Thursday afternoons and evenings as well as one Saturday each month.

We serve clients from Amherst, Ashfield, Bernardston, Buckland, Charlemont, Colrain, Conway, Deerfield, Erving, Gill, Hawley, Heath, Lake Pleasant, Leverett, Leyden, Millers Falls, Monroe, Montague, Montague Center Montague City, New Salem, Northfield, ,Orange, Rowe, Shelburne Falls, Shutesbury, South Deerfield, Sunderland, Warwick, Wendell and Whately MA. We also have some loyal clients from southern Vermont and New Hampshire.

Our hospital is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am until 5:00, Tuesday and Thursday from 8am until 8pm as well as 9am to 12 noon two Saturdays each month.
